Spring Art Class

As the weather is turning it makes me want to be outside ALL the time. Unfortunately (or fortunately, not sure yet) I still have a napping toddler, which gives me time to research ways to bring the outside in. This is a super fun craft I've had my eye on for a long time (and the drift wood in the closet to prove it).

Driftwood monsters!

All you'll need is:

  • Driftwood
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Wood Glue
  • Paintbrush

The best part is that you can't go wrong. Any combination will create a unique monster creature just for you!

Coming Alive

I cannot take credit for this. A friend of mine posted it on FB and I thought it was so brilliant I just couldn't pass it up. Artist Dave DeVries asked himself a simple question: "What would a child's drawing look like if it were painted realistically?" This is it.

Doesn't it make you want to go back and find every sketch you ever made as a kid? These are only a few samples, for more check out his website http://www.davedevries.com/.

Cartoon Art

I stumbled upon the cartoon artist Robert Marble while watching a TV show (which will remain undisclosed) and loved his lighthearted animals and drawings. Perfect for a kid's room, bathroom, office or wherever you want really.

This is a small sample, his "Office" print, which I found appropriate for this particular blog. But check out the rest on his website http://www.robertmarblehumorousartwork.com/. I find the penguins particularly endearing.
